This Summer Reading Kit has several ideas to help encourage reading over the summer. These watermelon-themed activities will help your child learn that reading is sweet!

Included in this kit:

1. Summer Reading punchable bookmark tracker
Simply print, cut out and then use a hole punch to punch out a watermelon seed for each book read. When cut, each bookmark measures 6.5×2.5 inches. I recommend printing these bookmarks on heavyweight paper or cardstock. You might choose to laminate them for additional stability, although this step would be optional. (Hole punch not included.)

2. Summer Reading Bingo Card
25 great ideas! Have each child complete a row, a column, diagonally, or blackout the board.

3. Summer Reading Log
Keep a record of each book read over the summer. Includes book title, author, pages and 5 star-rating.

4. A set of Reading Reward coupons
Together with your child, set some reading goals. Use these fill-in-the-blank reward coupons every time a goal is met.
